Kadar & Kahn Promoted
Fields Howell has two new partners in its Atlanta office. Attorneys Taryn M. Kadar and Stephen A. Kahn were promoted to the ranks of partner last week after serving as associates at the firm for nearly five years. The two have become major assets to the firm, both in terms of their legal expertise and in regards to their leadership.
Taryn M. Kadar Partner
Taryn joined Fields Howell in 2015 and has earned the trust of the firm’s clients over the last five years. Her work focuses on insurance coverage matters across the United States. She primarily represents clients in first party and third party coverage matters, handling matters in a wide range of practice areas. During her time with Fields Howell, Taryn has obtained numerous favorable summary judgment rulings for her clients.
In 2017, Taryn was seconded to two leading Lloyd’s syndicates where she gained a unique perspective of working in the market. She worked with in-house legal teams to provide advice on U.S. and international claims in the areas of property and casualty, marine, reinsurance, contingency, cargo, and professional liability. Taryn also worked closely with underwriters to help draft and review U.S. policy wordings.
Taryn has recently been working on large property losses relating to Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. She also monitors various accounts for her clients to help understand and minimize exposure.
Stephen A. Kahn
Steve joined Fields Howell in 2015 after working as a Senior Associate at a law firm in Birmingham, Alabama. He works on both coverage and defense matters, particularly those relating to large property loss, products liability, and personal injury. Steve utilizes his nearly ten years of legal experience to negotiate pre-suit resolution of claims when appropriate, but will litigate matters when necessary.
Steve spent six months seconded to a Lloyd’s market insurer in 2018. During his time working with the claims team, he focused on property losses throughout the United States. He worked directly with independent adjusters, retained experts, and ultimately resolved claims on a regular basis.
Recently, Steve has started providing general counsel services to corporations looking for a more personalized touch. His years of experience handling a wide-array of matters, including those related to insurance, employment dispute, personal injury, property loss, contract analysis, and litigation, provide him the ability to adapt to whatever might be required in protecting and promoting a business.
Steve is licensed to practice in the States of Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan, and has been admitted to practice in federal courts across the United States.
