Huizhong Emma Han

Huizhong (“Emma”) Han is an insurance coverage and defense attorney in Miami, Florida. She serves international and domestic insurers by providing coverage advice and defending insureds in litigation. Emma’s practice focuses on handling matters pertaining to property, commercial general liability, and commercial litigation.
Emma first joined Fields Howell as a summer associate in 2019. Her prior experience includes a summer as a judicial extern in the 8th Circuit of Florida under the Honorable Kristine Van Vorst and her time serving as a research assistant to Professor Lea E. Johnson Professor of Law. Emma began her work in the field of insurance when working as an intern at AXA Hong Kong. There, she conducted a study to determine the feasibility of introducing a new insurance product to mainland China.
After graduating with honors from Yunnan University in Kunming, China, Emma moved to the United States where she earned a Master’s in International Business from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business Administration. She most recently earned her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law where she was a member of the Florida Law Review and a member of Virgil D. Hawkins Mediation Clinic. While in school, she received book awards in Contracts and Creditors, Remedies & Bankruptcy and an excellence certificate for her pro bono work.
