Mary Claire Pouncey

Associate – Atlanta

Mary Claire Pounce serves as coverage and monitoring counsel to domestic and international insurers of various professionals. She focuses on high value professional liability claims brought against architects and engineers, attorneys, accountants, and more. Prior to joining Fields Howell, Mary Claire clerked in the Superior Court for the Cherokee Judicial Circuit. There, she gained experience in both civil and criminal lawsuits and trials. After graduation, she began her career as an associate attorney with a large regional firm where she specialized in worker’s compensation defense.

Mary Claire is a 2022 graduate of Samford University, Cumberland School of Law. While in law school, she gained experience as a law clerk for a civil litigation law firm in Alabama, and as a summer associate in the toxic exposure litigation practice group of a mid-sized law firm in Alabama. She earned her undergraduate degree from Auburn University where she majored in Human Development and Family Studies. She is licensed to practice in the State of Georgia.
