Robert Lakind is an experienced aviation attorney and commercial litigator based in Fields Howell’s Pennsylvania office.
Rob is a former airline pilot who flew domestic and international flights and now, as an attorney, represents a wide range of aviation clients. Rob represents 135 operators, insurance companies, airports, buyers and sellers of aircraft, and high net worth individuals in aviation lawsuits, on compliance matters, and in dealing with the FAA and NTSB. Further, Rob represents aviation clients on corporate matters including the buying, selling, financing, leasing, and taxation of aircraft and the buying and selling of aviation businesses. Rob’s background as a former pilot gives him unique insight into aviation matters and assists him in effectively representing his clients. Rob has also taught courses to other attorneys and at industry events on various aspects of aviation law.
In addition to his aviation practice, Rob is also an experienced litigator who has represented international insurers in casualty losses, managed class action litigations, and handled a wide variety of the other lawsuits in Courts in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. While he aims to resolve matters outside of the courtroom, he is a proven litigator and advocate for his clients when litigation does arise.
Prior to joining Fields Howell, Rob focused on aviation law, commercial litigation, and commercial real estate at a mid-sized law firm in New Jersey. He holds a Master of Law in Taxation from New York University School of Law, a Juris Doctor from American University, Washington College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The George Washington University.
