Nicholas “Nick” McDaniel is an attorney based in Atlanta, Georgia. He serves as coverage and monitoring counsel to domestic and international insurers of various professionals, including attorneys, architects, engineers, and accountants, and advises on claims, risk exposure, and other complex matters involving professional liability.
Prior to joining Fields Howell, Nick was an associate at a regional law firm in Atlanta, where he represented clients in a variety of complex litigation matters, including class action litigation, product liability litigation, employment litigation, trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation, real property litigation, business and contract disputes, and securities and investment-related disputes. Nick began his career as an associate in the Atlanta offices of national law firms, where he represented clients in commercial litigation and product liability matters. Throughout his career, Nick has managed litigation strategy, overseen discovery and fact investigation, conducted depositions, handled motion practice in trial and appellate courts, successfully argued in court across various stages of litigation, participated in trial, and negotiated settlements.
Nick earned his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2014. There, he was a Notes and Comments Editor for the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal and received Dean’s Awards for the highest grades in Torts and Legislation & Regulation. He graduated with high honors from Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy and a Certificate in Law, Science, and Technology. Nick is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia.
