Kathryn Sheppard Shealy

Kathryn “Kaylee” Sheppard Shealy specializes in providing insurance coverage advice to domestic and international insurers regarding commercial property and commercial general liability claims. Kaylee represents insureds as defense counsel in direct litigation involving personal injury, construction defects, and professional liability claims.
Prior to joining Fields Howell, Kaylee interned at The Home Depot headquarters through the University of Georgia’s Corporate Counsel Externship Program. She also served as a judicial intern to Chief Judge Ethelyn N. Simpson and Judge Charles E. Auslander, III of the Western Judicial State Court. While in law school, Kaylee also participated in the University of Georgia’s Mediation Clinic where she mediated over a dozen civil court cases. In 2017, Kaylee joined Fields Howell as a summer associate where she gained experience with the firm conducting extensive legal research and drafting motions.
Kaylee obtained both of her degrees from the University of Georgia. As an undergraduate student, she earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance. She also obtained certificates in Legal Studies and Business Professionalism and served as the Philanthropy Chair of the Insurance Society. While a law student, Kaylee served as President of the Business Law Society and was on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Intellectual Property. She also worked as a research assistant to Mehrsa Baradaran, Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives, and Robert Cotton Alston, Associate Chair in Corporate Law.
Following her graduation in 2018, Kaylee accepted Fields Howell’s offer to return to the firm as an associate attorney.
