Crighton’s practice consists of providing insurance coverage advice to both domestic and international insurers regarding commercial property and commercial general liability claims. In addition, Crighton represents insurers in coverage litigation, including the pursuit of declaratory judgment actions and defense of breach of contract and bad faith actions against insurers in both first and third-party claims. He also represents insureds as defense counsel in direct litigation involving personal injury and professional liability claims.
Prior to joining Fields Howell, Crighton worked on a number of complex litigation cases and was responsible for managing and preparing pleadings and written discovery, drafting dispositive motions, preparing fact and expert witnesses for trial, and providing early valuation and strategy considerations in both state and federal courts.
Crighton earned his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. Crighton served as Senior Notes Editor of, and was published in, the Georgia Law Review. Crighton also holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Washington & Lee University, where he attended as a George Washington Honors Scholar.
