Benjamin J. Welch

Ben Welch is an experienced defense attorney in Fields Howell’s Atlanta office. He joined Fields Howell in 2020 after working in the Atlanta office of a regional law firm where he represented individuals, businesses, and insurance companies. Ben has authored motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and motions to open default at the state and federal level. He has shown an early knack for alternative dispute resolution. Ben has already represented clients in double-digit mediations and has achieved favorable settlements in the vast majority of those matters.
Prior to joining private practice in Georgia, Ben served as a summer clerk for the Honorable Thomas J. Wright in the Third Circuit Court of Tennessee. While in law school, he also worked as a Student Attorney for the Special Education Advocacy Clinic in Columbia, South Carolina.
Ben is a 2016 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. He completed his Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Southern Mississippi after earning his B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Alabama in 2011. He is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia and is a member of the American Bar Association.
