Jamie McDowell is an insurance coverage attorney in Atlanta whose practice focuses on claims and circumstances arising from professional liability policies. She serves as coverage and monitoring counsel to insurers of various professionals, including lawyers, architects and engineers, insurance brokers, and more.

Prior to joining Fields Howell, Jamie worked as an associate in the Atlanta office of a national law firm. While there, her practice focused on civil litigation in the areas of professional liability and commercial insurance matters. She is experienced with all stages of litigation, having represented clients in the pre-litigation stages of a claim all the way through appeals.

Jamie is on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. She previously served as a Director of the Poll Worker Program and served as the Young Lawyers Division District Representative for the Northern District of Georgia.

Jamie earned her Juris Doctor from UGA in 2018. In law school. she was the Executive Online Editor for the Georgia Journal of International & Comparative Law Review where she also designed and published the journal’s first website. She also spent time clerking for an attorney specializing in legal malpractice and working as a judicial intern in the Supreme Court of Georgia.
