Caitlin Crader’s practice consists of providing insurance coverage advice to both domestic and international insurers regarding commercial property, commercial general liability and professional liability claims throughout the United States. Caitlin also routinely represents insurers in both first and third-party coverage litigation in various state and federal courts, including in declaratory judgement actions and in lawsuits alleging breach of contract and bad faith.
A significant part of Caitlin’s practice includes proving coverage advice to London market insurers regarding property and casualty claims by various gun and hunting clubs throughout the United States. Caitlin also monitors life sciences and pharmaceutical claims for excess carriers.
In addition, Caitlin represents insureds as appointed defense counsel in direct litigation involving a wide variety of claims, including personal injury, premises liability, and professional liability claims.
In 2016, Caitlin was seconded to a leading Lloyd’s syndicate for a period of six months. In this role, she worked with the in-house legal team and provided advice regarding U.S. claims (including property and casualty, marine, cargo, and professional indemnity claims) and underwriting (including cyber and commercial general liability coverages). She also conducted coverage litigation management and assessment.
Obtaining summary judgment in favor of insurers in coverage dispute over claim of trade secret thefts. Following the district court’s grant of summary judgment, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed, agreeing that there was no advertising injury coverage available for the claim.
Successfully resolving litigation to recover multi-million dollar claim for hail damage to several properties in the Metro Atlanta area, spread over multiple policy periods, on behalf of London Insurers.
Obtaining summary judgment in favor of insurers in bad faith and declaratory judgment action involving a water discharge claim at a one million square foot commercial property.
Successfully obtaining dismissal of first iteration of class action in Arkansas brought by insureds, based on lack of standing, lack of personal jurisdiction and lack of privity of contract.
Represented insurers in coverage dispute regarding several lawsuits brought by patients against insured physician’s group, including obtaining partial summary judgment regarding the coverage issues.
Representing insurers in action seeking declaration of no coverage for suit against insured based on misrepresentation of insured’s scope of work.
Providing insurance coverage advice to and representing London Market Insurers in coverage actions regarding various injuries sustained, including suicides, at shooting ranges.
Obtaining summary judgment in favor of insurers based on insureds’ failure to comply with protective safeguards endorsements in property policies, in multiple cases, in Georgia federal and state courts.
